Crescent University Courses and Requirements 2026/2027

Make this easier to read

Crescent University, Abeokuta, offers undergraduate courses including Nursing Science, Law, Computer Science, Accounting, Architecture, Biochemistry and Artificial Intelligence. Applicants need five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, alongside the requirements for their chosen course and admission route.

For 2026/2027, the university’s admission notice gives a general UTME eligibility score of 150, with 180 required for Law and Nursing. Applicants must also complete the university’s screening exercise.

The university uses shortened names such as “Economics/OR” and “Political Science” in some admission materials. When completing an application, select the corresponding programme name shown on the university’s application system and your JAMB record.

Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Software Engineering

Crescent University’s 2026/2027 ICT announcement includes these three programmes alongside Computer Science.

ICT programmeEntry levels advertised for 2026/2027
Artificial Intelligence100 Level only
Computer Science100 Level and Direct Entry into 200 Level
Cyber Security100 Level and Direct Entry into 200 Level
Software Engineering100 Level and Direct Entry into 200 Level

Artificial Intelligence is advertised with a scholarship opportunity. See the Crescent University ICT admission announcement for the programme-specific notice and enquiry contacts.

O’Level requirements

Crescent University requires at least five relevant credits in SSCE, GCE, NECO or an accepted equivalent, obtained in no more than two sittings. English Language and Mathematics are compulsory under its general admission requirements.

The other three subjects depend on the course. Having five credits is therefore only useful when the subjects match the programme you want to study.

Nursing Science, Anatomy and Physiology

The university’s College of Health Sciences specifies credits in these five subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

These are O’Level requirements. Applicants must separately meet the UTME subject combination and score requirements for their programme.

Nursing leads to the Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.). The department lists a five-year programme for UTME entrants and four years for Direct Entry entrants.

Requirements for other courses

The university’s general undergraduate page does not provide a complete course-by-course table of O’Level subjects and UTME combinations. For Law, Architecture, computing, business and other programmes, use the institution-specific entry in JAMB IBASS to check the exact subjects.

This is particularly important when comparing related courses. A subject combination accepted for one programme may not qualify an applicant for another.

How to check your JAMB subject combination

Use the JAMB Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System to check the requirements attached to Crescent University and your chosen course.

Look for three separate parts of the course entry:

RequirementWhat to check
O’Level subjectsRequired credit subjects, permitted alternatives and any sitting restrictions
UTME subjectsThe subjects required for the intended programme
Special consideration or waiverAny additional condition or exception specifically listed for Crescent University

For Direct Entry, also check the accepted qualifications and grades. Keep the course and institution together when checking eligibility; a general requirement for a course may have an institution-specific exception.

Crescent University cut-off marks for 2026/2027

The university’s 2026/2027 admission notice gives the following minimum UTME scores:

Programme groupMinimum UTME score
General undergraduate admission150
Law180
Nursing Science180

These are application thresholds. Applicants must also satisfy their course requirements and complete screening.

The university’s standing undergraduate webpage still displays a general score of 180. The figures above follow the session-specific 2026/2027 admission notice reproduced by Myschool, which distinguishes the general threshold from Law and Nursing.

Direct Entry requirements

Direct Entry provides an admission route for applicants with relevant qualifications beyond O’Level.

Crescent University’s undergraduate admission page lists relevant diploma and NCE qualifications, A’Level passes and IJMB among the routes considered. Applicants must also meet the O’Level requirements and pass the university’s interview.

The university states Upper Credit for its general diploma route, while allowing consideration of some Lower Credit ND and HND holders. The qualification must be relevant to the intended degree; the existence of a Direct Entry route does not establish that every diploma is accepted for every course.

For 2026/2027, the ICT announcement specifically offers 200 Level entry into Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering. Artificial Intelligence is advertised for 100 Level entry only.

Can you apply with awaiting results?

Yes. Crescent University’s admission information allows candidates awaiting O’Level results to apply.

Applicants still need the required credits for admission. An awaiting-result application does not remove the course’s subject requirements.

Can you apply if Crescent University was not your first choice?

Yes. Eligible applicants who initially selected another institution can apply after completing the required JAMB change of institution to Crescent University as first choice.

The change of institution and the university application are separate steps. Candidates must also complete Crescent University’s screening process.

How to apply

Visit the Crescent University application page and select the appropriate undergraduate admission route. Follow the instructions provided for the application form, supporting documents and screening.

Before choosing a programme, review the Crescent University school fees guide alongside the current fee information supplied by the university.

For questions about a particular qualification or subject combination, contact the Admissions Office on 0803 836 2771 or 0803 817 1727, or email admissions@cuab.edu.ng. Include your intended course, UTME or Direct Entry route, and your subjects or qualification grades so the office can assess the relevant requirement.
