Iconic Open University undergraduate school fees range from ₦75,000 to ₦135,000 per semester for Nigerians living in Nigeria. The university offers 30 programmes, including Nursing, Public Health, Software Engineering, Accounting and postgraduate degrees.
New undergraduate applicants pay a separate ₦10,000 application fee. Most postgraduate diplomas cost ₦130,000 per semester, while master’s fees range from ₦155,000 to ₦195,000. The course tables below show the amount and duration for each programme.
Iconic Open University undergraduate courses and fees
Iconic offers 14 bachelor’s programmes across health sciences, computing, education, management and the social sciences. Most run for eight semesters; Community Health Science, Health Information Management and Nursing have a listed duration of ten semesters. Direct Entry applicants join at the level assigned to their qualifications.

Postgraduate diploma courses and fees
The seven standard postgraduate diplomas cost ₦130,000 per semester. The Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management costs ₦195,000 per semester. Each runs for two semesters, with a separate ₦15,000 application fee.

The Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management is a separate programme from the standard PGD in Management. It also provides a route towards Iconic’s Doctor of Business Administration for eligible applicants whose previous qualifications require that preparation.
Master’s courses and fees
Iconic’s seven master’s programmes run for three semesters. Applicants pay ₦15,000 to apply, followed by the semester fee for their course.

Several master’s programmes offer specialisations. Choose the relevant option during application and check its entry requirements, particularly when moving into a field different from your first degree.
Doctor of Business Administration fees
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) runs for six semesters and costs ₦800,000 per semester. Its application fee is ₦50,000.
The DBA is aimed at experienced professionals. Its entry routes include relevant postgraduate qualifications and at least five years of work or business experience. Applicants with a master’s degree outside Business Administration may need the Advanced PGD in Management; the programme page sets out the routes for individual specialisations.
How much does a new student need to start?
For an undergraduate course charging ₦85,000, such as Accounting or Public Administration, the application fee and first semester fee add up to ₦95,000. Nursing, Public Health and the computing courses come to ₦145,000 for those two charges. Islamic Studies comes to ₦85,000.
A standard PGD applicant needs ₦145,000 for the ₦15,000 application fee and ₦130,000 first semester fee. For an MBA or Master of Public Health applicant, those charges total ₦210,000. Practical, project and other course-specific costs remain separate.
For a two-semester comparison, an ₦85,000 course has ₦170,000 in semester fees; a ₦135,000 course has ₦270,000. The application fee belongs to the admission application and is not added again every semester.
Admission requirements
Undergraduate entry
For 100 Level, applicants generally need five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings. The remaining subjects depend on the course. Software Engineering, for example, requires Physics among the credits.
Iconic accepts Direct Entry qualifications such as A’Level results, NCE, ND, HND and degrees, subject to the programme’s requirements. Related HND qualifications can lead to 300 Level entry under the university’s entry rules; other qualifications and routes are assessed separately.
Nursing applicants
Iconic’s Nursing degree is for applicants who already hold the relevant professional nursing or midwifery qualification. Registered midwives apply for 100 Level, while registered nurses apply for 200 Level.
Alongside the required O’Level credits, applicants need their professional certificate, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria registration and a valid practice licence. Evidence of payment to renew an expired licence is also accepted under the Nursing entry requirements. O’Level results alone do not qualify an applicant for these routes.
Postgraduate entry
The entry qualification depends on the postgraduate course. For example, the PGD in Computer Science accepts an HND or degree in any field, alongside the required O’Level credits and NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion document for Nigerian applicants.
For the MBA, the usual degree route starts at second-class lower. The university also considers specified third-class and HND-plus-PGD routes. MPH applicants need an eligible academic background and the relevant science O’Level subjects. Each course name in the tables links to its full admission requirements.
Does Iconic require JAMB?
A JAMB examination result is not required for bachelor’s admission. Admitted students must complete JAMB regularisation—the process of recording their admission with JAMB. The university’s admission process includes this step after an offer.
How studying at Iconic works
Iconic is a private open university in Sokoto, listed in the NUC’s private-university directory. Teaching is delivered through online and distance learning, with live classes, recordings and downloadable materials. Study centres provide face-to-face support.
This arrangement allows students to study while working or living away from the university. Health and other practical programmes still have course-specific practical requirements. Alongside school fees, plan for internet access, a suitable device and any travel needed for your programme.
How to apply and pay Iconic Open University fees
Prepare your academic credentials in one PDF, a recent passport photograph, an active email address and a payment card. Use the official Iconic application page to begin.
- Create your account. Complete the registration form and activate the account through the link sent to your email.
- Pay the application fee. Use the payment link generated in your account: ₦10,000 for undergraduate admission, ₦15,000 for a postgraduate diploma or master’s programme, and ₦50,000 for the DBA.
- Complete the application. Upload your photograph and credentials, choose your programme and admission semester, and select the appropriate entry level.
- Receive your admission decision. Check your email for the Registrar’s response. After an offer, log in, complete the admission documentation and print your admission letter.
- Pay your semester fee and register your courses. Use the payment link in the university portal and complete course registration after payment confirmation.

Fees paid to Iconic are non-refundable. Payments go through the university’s online system or authorised university accounts; the university does not appoint individuals to collect fees into personal accounts.
