FUTIA offers undergraduate courses including Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Biochemistry, Accounting and Architecture. For 2026/2027, UTME applicants need at least 160, five relevant O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics, and FUTIA as their first-choice institution.
The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, also announced 12 additional degree programmes, bringing its stated total to 36. These include Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology and Health Information Management.

FUTIA Admission Requirements for 2026/2027
| Requirement | University’s published condition |
|---|---|
| UTME score | At least 160 |
| Institution choice | FUTIA must be your first choice |
| O’Level | Five relevant credits, including English Language and Mathematics |
| Sittings | Maximum of two |
| Age | At least 16 by 30 September 2026 |
| Screening | Complete the university’s admission screening process |
| Results | Upload your O’Level results to JAMB CAPS |
Applicants who initially selected another university can change their first-choice institution to FUTIA, subject to the applicable admission window.
Does 160 Guarantee Admission?
No. The published score is the minimum for screening eligibility. It is not an admission offer or a verified departmental selection score.
A course appearing on the list also does not mean every applicant with 160 qualifies for it. Your subjects and other admission credentials must fit the programme.
FUTIA O’Level and JAMB Subject Requirements
The five-credit rule is a general minimum. The other required subjects depend on your chosen course.
A complete, current FUTIA-specific table of O’Level subjects and UTME combinations could not be verified from the official material accessible for this guide. It would therefore be misleading to assign a subject combination to every course without checking its individual entry.
Before registering or changing course:
- Open JAMB’s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System.
- Find your intended programme and institution.
- Check the required O’Level subjects and UTME combination.
- Read any institution-specific conditions or special considerations.
- If the new programme is missing or its requirements are unclear, request clarification from FUTIA’s Admissions Office before proceeding.
Do not assume that similar course names have identical requirements. For example, Computer Science and Computer Engineering are separate programmes, as are Biomedical Engineering and the health science courses.
FUTIA Direct Entry Requirements
FUTIA’s screening notice includes Direct Entry candidates who selected the university as their first choice.
However, the notice does not provide a complete programme-by-programme list of accepted qualifications, minimum grades or required advanced-level subjects.
Before applying through Direct Entry, confirm:
- Whether your qualification is accepted for the specific course.
- The minimum grade or points required.
- Whether your previous field of study is relevant.
- The required O’Level subjects.
- Any additional screening or document-verification conditions.
Do not assume that FUTIA accepts every ND, HND, NCE, IJMB or JUPEB qualification for every programme. Obtain the requirement for your intended course rather than relying on a general Direct Entry list.
Does FUTIA Offer Nursing, Medicine or Law?
Nursing Science, Medicine and Surgery, and Law are not included in the admission guide and additional-programme announcement used for this article. Their availability could not be verified from those sources.
The newly announced health-related programmes are:
- Environmental Health Science
- Health Information Management
- Community Health Science
These are different degrees from Nursing Science and Medicine and Surgery. Biomedical Engineering is also an engineering degree, not a medical qualification.
How to Proceed After Choosing a Course
Start with the official FUTIA admission portal and read the notice applicable to your academic session.
Before making any payment, confirm your course, entry requirements and the current application window. An accessible application page alone does not establish that registration is still open.
You should also review the FUTIA school fees breakdown when planning your budget. Confirm the charges applicable to your programme and student category before paying.
