FUBK Admission Requirements for 2026/2027
- JAMB Requirement: Minimum score of 140 for most programs; Medicine and Surgery requires 200, Nursing and Law require 190, and Engineering requires 170. Check your result now (see How to Check JAMB Result via SMS 2026).
- O’Level Requirement: Five credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent). Relevant subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are required for Medicine and Nursing; Physics and Mathematics for Engineering; and Literature for Arts programs.
- Post-UTME Screening: FUBK conducts a Post-UTME screening for all candidates. A minimum score of 50% is typically required, but competitive programs like Medicine may demand 70% or higher.
- Direct Entry: Candidates with ND, HND, or A’Level qualifications (e.g., IJMB, JUPEB) can apply for 200-level admission. A minimum of 10 points in IJMB is often required for competitive courses like Medicine.
- Application Process: Apply via jamb.gov.ng, select FUBK as your first choice, and participate in the Post-UTME screening. Visit fubk.edu.ng for screening dates and registration details.
Tips to Meet FUBK Cut-Off Marks
- Target High JAMB Scores: For Medicine (200) or Law (190), aim for 210+ to be safe, as competition is intense.
- Prepare for Post-UTME: FUBK’s Post-UTME covers English, Mathematics, and program-specific subjects (e.g., Biology for Nursing). Practice past questions from federal universities to score above 70% for competitive programs.
- Choose Less Competitive Courses: If your JAMB score is below 170, consider programs like Sociology, Geography, or Education, which have cut-offs of 140.
- Verify O’Level Results: Ensure your results meet the subject requirements (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics for Engineering).
- Alternatives: Compare with other universities like FUAZ or FUAM (cut-off: 160; see Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi Cut-Off Mark 2026/2027).
Why Choose FUBK?
FUBK’s general cut-off mark of 140 is one of the lowest among federal universities, making it accessible for candidates with moderate JAMB scores. Its diverse program offerings, from Medicine to Arts, cater to a wide range of interests, while its focus on research and community development aligns with Kebbi State’s needs.
FUBK’s facilities, such as science labs and hostels, support practical learning, though its relatively new status means infrastructure is still developing compared to older institutions like FUAM. The higher cut-offs for Medicine (200) and Law (190) ensure quality in competitive fields, but may exclude candidates with lower scores. Candidates should monitor fubk.edu.ng for Post-UTME dates and departmental updates.
