About Lagos State University
Lagos State University (LASU) was established in 1983 and is located in Ojo, Lagos State, with additional campuses at Ikeja and Epe. It is a public university owned by the Lagos State Government and accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), with over 35,000 students across its faculties.
LASU is one of the most applied-to state universities in Nigeria — JAMB recorded 84,326 first-choice applicants for the 2026/2027 session, which is part of why admission lists are released in multiple batches rather than all at once.
How to Check Your LASU Admission Status 2026/2027
Step 1: Check JAMB CAPS First
Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal at portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility and log in with your JAMB registration number and password. Admission offers are officially processed through JAMB CAPS before you can accept or reject them, so this is your first checkpoint.
Step 2: Check the LASU Admission Screening Portal
Go to the official LASU admission portal at services.lidc.lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening/login.php. Log in with the details you used during your Post-UTME screening to view your admission status directly on the university’s own system.
Step 3: If Your Name Isn’t There Yet
Don’t panic. LASU is uploading names in batches, and several factors affect when a candidate’s name appears, including O’Level result verification, programme quota, departmental requirements, and JAMB approval. Keep checking both portals regularly — additional batches are expected in the coming weeks.
Step 4: Accept Your Admission on JAMB CAPS
Once you see an admission offer, accept it on JAMB CAPS within the stipulated period. Failure to accept in time may affect your admission. After accepting, print your JAMB Admission Letter and your original JAMB Result Slip.
What to Do After You See Your Name
If your name appears on the list, LASU has already activated its Acceptance Fee and Medical Fee payment portal for successful UTME candidates. Here’s what comes next:
- Accept your admission on JAMB CAPS if you haven’t already.
- Pay your Acceptance Fee and Medical Fee through the official LASU payment portal only — never through an individual or agent.
- Print every payment receipt and keep it safe for future clearance exercises.
- Watch out for other mandatory charges during registration, including the LACACA Fee, Matriculation Fee, NUGA Fee, Student Background Fee, Ilera Eko Fee, CBT Fee, GNS Compendium, Library Fee, and Laboratory/Practical Fee where applicable.
⚠️ As of publication, LASU has not published the exact naira amounts for the Acceptance Fee, Medical Fee, or the other charges listed above. Log in to the official payment portal to see the specific figures that apply to you before making any payment — and never pay anyone claiming to secure or speed up your admission.
Avoiding Admission Scams
LASU has repeatedly warned candidates about fraudsters who claim they can guarantee admission for a fee. Admission into LASU is based strictly on merit, catchment considerations where applicable, and JAMB/university guidelines. Only trust information from the official LASU portal, JAMB CAPS, and verified university communication channels — never an individual promising a shortcut.
