Make this easier to read

Federal Polytechnic Damaturu offers ND courses including Accountancy, Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Agricultural Technology and Mass Communication. Applicants need five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings, alongside an acceptable UTME score in the required subjects.

The five-credit requirement is stated in the polytechnic’s 2025 Students’ Information Handbook. Each department also specifies which subjects applicants must present.

General ND Admission Requirements

For the regular UTME admission route, applicants must:

  • Have five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Obtain the required credits in no more than two sittings.
  • Sit UTME using subjects relevant to the intended ND programme.
  • Meet the applicable admission score and screening conditions.

The handbook recognises SSCE, GCE and NECO qualifications. It also provides for NABTEB applicants with at least five academic-subject credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

For Engineering, Computer Science, and Surveying and Geoinformatics, the handbook specifically emphasises credits in Mathematics and Physics.

Course-Specific O’Level and UTME Requirements

The following are requirements published on the polytechnic’s departmental pages. Applicants should also check the current JAMB entry for their chosen course.

Other ND Courses

The general five-credit rule also applies to the other ND programmes, but their subject requirements differ. The Computer Science combination should not be copied into an application for Agricultural Technology, Mass Communication or Science Laboratory Technology.

Use the JAMB Eligibility Checker to check the individual course:

  1. Select the UTME entry route.
  2. Choose the polytechnic institution category.
  3. Select Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu.
  4. Choose your ND programme.
  5. Enter your O’Level credits and UTME subjects.
  6. Review the eligibility result.

JAMB identifies this tool as a way to check institution-specific programme requirements and UTME combinations.

What Is the Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027?

A session-specific institution-wide cut-off mark was not established from the official material reviewed for this guide.

The UTME scores beside admitted candidates’ names in the first-batch list are individual results. The lowest score visible on one page should not be presented as the polytechnic’s general or departmental cut-off mark.

Upload Your O’Level Results to JAMB

The polytechnic’s 2026/2027 first-batch admission notice directs applicants who have not been admitted to visit a CBT centre and upload their SSCE results to JAMB.

Candidates who registered with awaiting results should upload the actual results once available. If you uploaded them previously, confirm that the correct subjects and grades appear on your JAMB profile.

ND, HND and Other Diploma Courses Are Different

This guide covers National Diploma admission. The polytechnic also runs HND and other diploma programmes, which have different entry routes.

For example, the Computer Science department lists ND Computer Science separately from its Diploma in Computer Science and Diploma in Information Communication Technology. Check the award on the application form before paying; similarly named programmes are not automatically the same qualification.

Official Application Portal

Start from the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu website and follow its admission link to portal.fedpodam.edu.ng.

Choose the correct programme and study route, then follow the instructions for the relevant admission session. An application link alone does not establish that a particular admission window is still open.
