General FULOKOJA Admission Requirements

For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, applicants must:

  1. Select Federal University Lokoja as their first-choice institution.
  2. Score at least 160 in the 2026 UTME, if applying through UTME.
  3. Have at least five O’Level credits in the subjects required for their course.
  4. Have a credit in English Language, which is compulsory for all programmes.
  5. Meet the course’s UTME subject requirements.
  6. Upload their O’Level results to JAMB.
  7. Participate in the university’s screening exercise.
  8. Be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026, according to the session’s screening notice.

Direct Entry applicants must have applied through JAMB and meet the qualification requirements for their chosen programme.

Scoring 160 does not guarantee admission. It is the published general screening minimum. Admission still depends on satisfying the programme requirements and the university’s selection process.

Does FULOKOJA Accept Two Sittings?

FULOKOJA generally accepts relevant O’Level credits obtained in no more than two sittings, but there are important exceptions.

ProgrammeWhat the official sources say
Medicine and SurgeryThe course requirements table specifies one sitting.
Doctor of PharmacyThe course table and screening notice specify one sitting.
Nursing ScienceThe screening notice specifies one sitting, while the general course table allows two.
Medical Laboratory ScienceThe screening notice specifies one sitting, while the general course table allows two.
LawThe screening notice specifies one sitting, while the general course table allows two.
Other programmesGenerally no more than two sittings, subject to the individual course requirements.

Applicants combining results for Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science or Law should obtain clarification from FULOKOJA before relying on the two-sitting allowance. The 2026/2027 screening notice explicitly requires the relevant WAEC or NECO credits in one sitting for these programmes.

This difference exists between the university’s own published pages. It should not be treated as confirmed permission to combine results.

FULOKOJA O’Level Requirements by Course

Five credits must include the right subjects. Having five credits in unrelated subjects does not meet a course’s admission requirements.

Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy

These programmes require O’Level credits in:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

Check the sitting restrictions above before applying.

Their published UTME combination is English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Computer Science and Other Computing Courses

CourseRequired O’Level credits
Computer ScienceEnglish, Mathematics and Physics, plus two eligible science subjects from the university’s listed options, including Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Computer Studies and Further Mathematics.

Architecture needs clarification: The official table’s UTME row lists more subjects than a four-subject UTME combination permits. Confirm the correct combination with FULOKOJA and the JAMB brochure before choosing subjects.

FULOKOJA Direct Entry Requirements

Direct Entry eligibility depends on the programme, your qualification, its subject area and your grade.

The university’s table considers qualifications such as IJMB/GCE A’Level, NCE, ND, HND and previous degrees where accepted. Possessing one of these qualifications does not make you eligible for every course.

Examples of the published requirements include:

CourseExamples of accepted Direct Entry routes
Computer ScienceRelevant A’Level qualifications; ND Upper Credit or HND Lower Credit in Computer Science; specified relevant NCE or degree qualifications.
BiochemistryRelevant A’Level passes including Biology and Chemistry; a relevant science degree of at least Third Class. The table marks NCE, ND and HND as ineligible.
AccountingSpecified A’Level/professional routes; ND Upper Credit or HND Lower Credit in Accounting, Business Administration or Banking and Finance.
MicrobiologyRelevant A’Level or NCE qualifications; ND Upper Credit in Biological Science, Science Laboratory Technology or a related programme; HND Lower Credit in a relevant programme.
Engineering coursesUpper Credit in the specified relevant ND discipline; Distinction in a relevant HND; or a relevant engineering degree of at least Third Class.
Library and Information ScienceRelevant A’Level/NCE qualifications; ND or HND Lower Credit in Library and Information Science, ICT or another accepted relevant programme.

Courses With Direct Entry Restrictions

The current regular undergraduate table marks the listed Direct Entry routes as ineligible for:

  • Medicine and Surgery
  • Nursing Science
  • Medical Laboratory Science
  • Law
  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science
  • Software Engineering

Several other programmes also have restrictions. Check the exact qualification column for your course rather than relying on a general statement that FULOKOJA accepts Direct Entry.

These restrictions concern the regular undergraduate admission table. They should not automatically be applied to a separately advertised conversion, professional or distance-learning programme.

IJMB and A’Level Points

The published minimum points vary. Examples include:

ProgrammeMinimum points shown in the IJMB/GCE A’Level column
Computer Science9
Biochemistry10
Microbiology8
Accounting10
Finance7
Business Administration9
Engineering courses15

The points alone are insufficient. Applicants must also satisfy the relevant subject and O’Level requirements.

Can You Apply With Awaiting Results?

The 2026/2027 screening notice allows candidates awaiting results to begin online registration. However, they cannot participate in the online screening until their O’Level results have been uploaded.

The university directs applicants to upload their results through a JAMB office or JAMB-accredited CBT centre.

What to Check Before Applying

Before selecting FULOKOJA or changing to a different course:

  1. Find the exact programme on the university’s admission requirements page.
  2. Match your O’Level credits against its required subjects.
  3. Check the permitted number of sittings.
  4. Confirm that your four UTME subjects match the programme.
  5. For Direct Entry, check your qualification type, discipline and minimum grade.
