About the Abuja Leadership Centre

The Abuja Leadership Centre is a TETFund-established Centre of Excellence in Public Governance and Leadership, hosted at the University of Abuja (renamed Yakubu Gowon University in December 2024). It runs postgraduate programmes designed for mid-to-senior level leaders in the public and private sectors, with a strong practical, research-based approach that includes an internship or study tour component built into every degree.

The Centre is currently led by Professor Abdulhamid Ozohu-Suleiman, who took over as Director in April 2026, succeeding Professor Philip Dahida. Its notable alumni include the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and several serving and former state governors who have gone through its Public Governance and Leadership programme. A permanent site for the Centre is under construction at Jahi, Abuja, following a foundation-laying ceremony in February 2026 backed by TETFund.
