The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) has released the 2026 examination results, and candidates can check them on the official JUPEB result portal with their examination number and surname. Some institutions are still receiving or uploading results in batches, so your result may not show for every centre yet. This page has been updated with the latest information as of September 21, 2026.
Status: Confirmed, rollout ongoing. Campus News reported the release on September 20, 2026, and Campus Reports separately reported that UNILORIN had begun uploading results in batches. JUPEB’s own website did not carry a 2026 release notice when we checked, so confirm your result on the official portal.

How to Check Your JUPEB Result 2026
- Go to the official JUPEB website at https://jupeb.edu.ng/ and open the Portal page, or go straight to https://jupeb.edu.ng/portal/index.
- Have your Candidate Examination Number and Surname ready.
- Click the result-checking link on that page.
- Enter your Examination Number.
- Enter your Surname.
- Click Submit to view your result.
- Save or print a copy of your result.
JUPEB’s FAQ says results are released to the university centres, and candidates collect their statements of result from the centre where they registered. If the portal does not show your result, contact your centre’s exam officer.
JUPEB Result Not Showing? Do This
Results are being uploaded in batches, and not every institution has gained access yet. If your result is not showing:
- Check again later in the day and over the next few days.
- Confirm that your examination number and the spelling of your surname are exactly as they appear on your registration.
- Ask your JUPEB centre whether it has received its results.
- Contact JUPEB support at support@jupeb.edu.ng, on 01 453 1891 or +234 816 318 1073 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
JUPEB Grading System Explained
JUPEB awards points for each of your three subjects:
| Grade | Points |
|---|---|
| A | 5 |
| B | 4 |
| C | 3 |
| D | 2 |
| E | 1 |
| F | 0 (fail) |
You get one extra point if you score A, B, C, D or E in all three subjects. For example, a candidate with B, D and C has 4 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 10 points. The highest possible score is 16 points (three As plus the bonus point).
What to Do After You Check Your JUPEB Result
- Get a JAMB Direct Entry form. JUPEB says candidates must obtain a Direct Entry form from JAMB to process admission with their result. You can get it in the same year you write JUPEB.
- Choose a university that accepts JUPEB and check that your points meet its cut-off for your course. JUPEB says you can apply to a university different from your centre if it accepts JUPEB results and you meet its cut-off.
- Wait for the university’s screening notice. Some universities cannot start their JUPEB screening until they have access to the results, so timelines differ by institution.
- Keep your result safe. A JUPEB result is valid for three admission years. If you write in 2026, you can use it for 2026, 2027 and 2028.
- Remember the entry point. A candidate who passes JUPEB is given Direct Entry admission into 200 level. A JUPEB result does not guarantee admission.
For examples of how universities set their requirements, see our EKSU Post UTME and Direct Entry form guide and our ABSU Post UTME and Direct Entry form guide.
Avoid JUPEB Result Scams
JUPEB has publicly named a list of fake websites and platforms that pose as the board, including jupeb.org.ng and jupebportal.com.ng. Use jupeb.edu.ng only. JUPEB also says that only approved university centres can register candidates, and that tutorial centres cannot. Do not pay anyone who offers to upgrade, change or “fix” your JUPEB result.
About JUPEB
The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board is a national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten partnering universities led by the University of Lagos. The programme normally runs for one academic session and prepares candidates for Direct Entry into 200 level.
Frequently Asked Questions About the JUPEB Result
Has JUPEB released the 2026 result?
Yes. Campus News reported on September 20, 2026 that JUPEB had released the 2026 examination results. Not all institutions had accessed them at that time, and results are being uploaded to some centres in batches.
How do I check my JUPEB result?
Go to https://jupeb.edu.ng/portal/index, enter your examination number and surname, and click Submit. You can also collect your statement of result from your JUPEB centre.
Why is my JUPEB result not showing?
Results are being released to institutions in batches, so yours may not be uploaded yet. Check again later, confirm your examination number and surname, and contact your centre or JUPEB support if the problem continues.
How is the JUPEB result graded, and what is the maximum score?
A is 5 points, B is 4, C is 3, D is 2, E is 1 and F is 0. You get one extra point if you have no F in your three subjects, so the maximum is 16 points.
What is the JUPEB pass mark for Direct Entry?
JUPEB does not publish a single pass mark for admission. You must meet the cut-off set by the university and course you choose. For example, EKSU’s 2026/2027 announcement listed a minimum of 7 points for JUPEB candidates, as reported in our EKSU guide.
Do I need a JAMB Direct Entry form with my JUPEB result?
Yes. JUPEB says you must obtain a Direct Entry form from JAMB to process admission with your JUPEB result, and you can get it in the same year you write the exam.
How long is a JUPEB result valid for admission?
A JUPEB result can be used within three admission years. If you write in 2026, you can use it for 2026, 2027 and 2028. The certificate itself remains a valid document for life.
Where do I collect my JUPEB certificate?
You collect it from the university centre where you registered for the examination. JUPEB gives certificates, not transcripts.
When will universities start JUPEB Direct Entry screening?
No universal date has been announced. Screening depends on when each institution gains access to the released results, so watch your chosen university’s official channels.
