Where to find the official JAMB brochure
Open JAMB’s official Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS). Its navigation includes the brochure, e-syllabus and programme-eligibility tools. The brochure offers views by institution and by programme.
Use the institution view to find the school and programme you intend to select. Where a PDF is available, check the document’s edition and the relevant course entry. A saved PDF should be checked against the current institution record and the school’s latest admission notice.
If the document viewer does not load, that does not establish that a course is unavailable. Try the institution’s official admission requirements or ask JAMB or the institution to clarify the entry. Do not infer a programme’s accreditation from a broken page.
Read these four requirements separately

How to check your course, step by step
- Select the right institution type. University degree, polytechnic ND and college-of-education programmes can have different requirements. Use the entry for the qualification you want.
- Find the exact institution and course. Check the programme name carefully. Similar names do not prove that the entry requirements are identical.
- Write down your four UTME subjects. Use of English is included. If the entry permits an alternative, keep that choice within the options listed for that school.
- Check your O’level results separately. Tick each required credit, count the total and confirm the sitting limit. A UTME subject list does not replace an O’level checklist.
- Read the special-consideration notes. An institution may specify a subject, grade or sitting condition that differs from a general course entry.
- Repeat the process for your alternative choice. Compare both institutions before assuming one combination covers them.
- Resolve conflicting information before registering. Ask the institution or JAMB to clarify a discrepancy between a brochure entry and an admission notice.
Why the institution matters: a Computer Science example
The documents reviewed for our finder show a useful difference. UI’s 2026/27 regulations list Use of English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics for Computer Science. UNILAG’s published 2025/26 requirements allow Chemistry or Biology as the fourth UTME subject alongside Use of English, Mathematics and Physics, and list Further Mathematics separately at O’level.
The source years matter: neither example should be treated as an automatically confirmed 2027 rule. Open the finder to compare the full entries and their official sources.
One sitting, two sittings and credit counts
Check the programme’s exact rule for combining results. Some entries require the necessary credits in one sitting. Others allow two sittings but specify a different total number of credits or additional conditions.
Write out the result or results you plan to use, the required subjects and the grades. Do not assume that every course at the same university permits the same arrangement.

Common terms in an entry

| ND / NCE / HND | National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education and Higher National Diploma. Their acceptance and required grades depend on the programme. |
| Special consideration / waiver | A stated institution-specific condition or permitted alternative. Read the exact note rather than assuming it removes every requirement. |
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an older downloaded brochure?
Use it as a reference, then check the current official entry and the institution’s notice for your application cycle. Keep the source year visible when comparing requirements.
Does a correct combination guarantee admission?
It satisfies one part of the application requirements. You must also meet the institution’s other conditions, which may include screening, scores, documents and deadlines.
What if my course is missing from a search result?
Check the exact spelling, institution and qualification type, then ask the institution or JAMB if you still cannot find it. A missing or failed search alone is not evidence of an accreditation decision.
Can I use a university rule for a polytechnic course?
Use the institution and programme entry for the qualification you are applying for. A similarly named ND and degree course can have different requirements.
Where can I compare my subjects with a programme?
JAMB provides an official programme-eligibility checker. Select your entry mode, institution and programme and enter your actual qualifications. Read the result alongside the programme’s published conditions.
