Inter-University Transfer Candidates

Transfer admission is not available for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, or Law. For all other programmes, transfer candidates must:

  • Have a minimum CGPA of 1.50
  • Submit academic transcripts to the Registrar by 16 October 2026

Nature of the Screening Exercise

The 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening at ESUI runs in two modes depending on the programme:

Physical (on-campus) screening applies to candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law. These candidates must attend a Post-UTME screening test on campus. Dates and venues will be communicated by the university after registration. Screening combines the Post-UTME test score, JAMB score, and O’Level results on JAMB CAPS.

Online screening applies to all other UTME programmes. Candidates are assessed purely on their verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded to JAMB CAPS — no physical attendance required.

Direct Entry candidates are screened online for most programmes. DE candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, or Law must also sit a Post-DE Screening Test on campus.

How to Apply for ESUI Post UTME 2026/2027

Step 1: Confirm Your JAMB Score and First-Choice Institution

Check that your JAMB score meets the minimum cut-off for your chosen programme. If you did not originally choose ESUI as your first-choice institution, log in to JAMB CAPS and change your first choice to Edo State University, Iyamho before applying. This step must be completed before your Post-UTME application.

Step 2: Visit the Application Portal

Go to edouniversity.edu.ng/admissions/register for UTME and DE candidates. For Inter-University Transfer, use edouniversity.edu.ng/admissions/StartTransferRegistration.

Step 3: Select Your Application Category

On the admissions page, click “Admissions” and choose your appropriate category — Undergraduate, Direct Entry, Transfer, or JUPEB. Click “Admission Requirements/Details” and read the guidelines carefully before proceeding.

Step 4: Enter Your JAMB Registration Number

Click “Application Forms” and enter your JAMB Registration Number in the prescribed format. Use your personal email address and phone number throughout the process — these will be used for all future correspondence.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000 (UTME/DE) or ₦60,000 (Transfer) through the Remita platform on the university website only. Do not pay through individuals, private accounts, or external platforms. Any payment made outside the official Remita channel is entirely at the applicant’s risk.

Step 6: Upload Your Documents

Upload all required supporting documents:

  • 2026 JAMB UTME result slip (or DE registration slip)
  • O’Level result certificate(s) — WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB
  • Clear digital passport photograph
  • Valid means of identification (school ID, National ID slip, or birth certificate)
  • For DE candidates: Advanced Level result or IJMB/JUPEB certificate

Step 7: Print Your Acknowledgement Slip

Review your application summary, correct any errors, submit, and print your completed Post-UTME Application Slip. Use the “Already Applied?” option on the portal at any time to monitor your application status.

⚠️ Fraud warning: Admission into ESUI is strictly based on merit and due process. Admission is not for sale. Pay only through the official Remita platform on the university website. Report any suspicious approaches to the admissions office.

Important Deadlines and Notes

  • O’Level results must be uploaded to JAMB CAPS by 16 October 2026 for other programmes. The notice gave 15 September 2026 for Medicine, Nursing and Law. Candidates must also meet their separate application deadline; O’Level upload for other programmes is due before the general 23 October application closing date.
  • Any offer of admission must be accepted on JAMB CAPS within two (2) weeks of the offer date. Offers not accepted within this window are automatically withdrawn.
  • Ensure your JAMB CAPS profile details — registration number, date of birth, state of origin — match exactly with the Post-UTME application portal. Discrepancies can cause processing errors.

Frequently Asked Questions — ESUI Post UTME 2026/2027

Is the Edo State University Post UTME form 2026/2027 out?

ESUI opened registration on 12 June 2026. The current notice lists 23 October 2026 for other programmes, while Medicine, Nursing and Law closed on 3 September 2026. Do not assume the general date reopens them. UTME/DE screening costs ₦2,000.

What is the cut-off mark for ESUI Post UTME 2026/2027?

The general minimum JAMB score for most programmes at ESUI is 150. However, competitive programmes have higher thresholds: Medicine and Surgery requires 210, Law requires 185, Nursing requires 170, and several Engineering and Science programmes require 170. Check the full table above for your specific course.

Can I apply for ESUI Post UTME if I did not choose Edo State University as my first choice?

Candidates who did not initially choose ESUI must meet their programme’s cut-off and other requirements, change their first choice through JAMB CAPS, and meet the applicable deadlines. The notice’s general 23 October date does not override the earlier Medicine, Nursing and Law deadline.

How much is the ESUI Post UTME application fee for 2026/2027?

The Post-UTME and Direct Entry application fee is ₦2,000, non-refundable. Inter-University Transfer candidates pay ₦60,000. All payments must be made through the Remita platform on the official university website.

Does ESUI Post UTME require a physical screening?

It depends on your programme. Candidates for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law must attend an on-campus Post-UTME screening test. Dates will be announced by the university. All other programmes are screened online only, based on JAMB scores and O’Level results on JAMB CAPS — no physical attendance required.

What are the O’Level requirements for ESUI?

All candidates need at least five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects in not more than two sittings. Medicine and Surgery (MB;BS) candidates must have all five credits — including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology — in one sitting.

Can Direct Entry candidates apply?

DE candidates must be registered through JAMB, meet ESUI’s programme-specific qualification and point requirements, and meet the applicable deadlines. The general 23 October closing date does not reopen Medicine, Nursing or Law after their stated 3 September deadline.

When will ESUI Post UTME screening dates be announced?

The reviewed official notice says dates and times for Medicine, Nursing and Law tests will be communicated by the university. That wording does not establish whether a later message has already been sent. Check your application dashboard and official messages for your own screening instructions.
