The Gombe State University (GSU) admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session is now available on JAMB CAPS. Candidates who applied for admission can log in to check their status, confirm the programme offered and accept an approved offer.
Check your own JAMB profile to know whether you have been admitted. The availability of GSU offers does not mean every applicant will see an admission offer immediately.
How to Check GSU Admission List on JAMB CAPS
You will need the email address and password linked to your JAMB profile.
- Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal.
- Log in with your registered email address and password.
- Select Check Admission Status.
- Choose 2026 as your examination year and enter your JAMB registration number if requested.
- Click Access My CAPS.
- Open Admission Status or Regular Admission Status to view your offer.
Read the institution and course details carefully before responding. If you cannot remember your password, use the password-reset link on the official login page.
What Your GSU Admission Status Means
| Status displayed | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Approved or Admitted | Your admission has received JAMB approval. Review the programme and accept the offer if you want it. |
| Proposed or Admission in Progress | Your admission has not reached the final approved stage. Continue checking for a decision. |
| Not Admitted | No approved offer is showing on your profile at that time. This message alone does not establish final rejection. |
A proposed admission is not the same as an approved offer. Wait for the approval to appear before attempting to accept it.
How to Accept Your GSU Admission
Once your admission is approved and you are satisfied with the course offered, complete the acceptance process.
For the SMS method:
- Use the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
- Type your JAMB registration number, leave one space, then type ACCEPT in capital letters.
- Send the message to 55019 or 66019.
- Wait for the response, then return to CAPS to confirm that your acceptance has been recorded.
Use your actual registration number and follow any additional instructions JAMB displays. Do not assume the process is complete simply because you sent a message.
If you cannot complete acceptance, seek assistance from a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre.
What If GSU Offers You a Different Course?
Check Transfer Approval on CAPS if GSU proposes a programme different from the one you originally selected.
Read the proposed course carefully and respond through the available transfer process. Only accept the change if you are willing to study that programme.
Accepting a course transfer is different from accepting a final admission offer. After responding to the transfer, continue checking Admission Status for JAMB’s decision.
What to Do If Your Status Still Says “Not Admitted”
Start by checking that your O’Level results are visible and correct on CAPS.
Open My O’Level Result and confirm that your subjects and grades appear. Submitting results to a university does not, by itself, confirm that they are available on your JAMB profile.
Also check for an outstanding offer under Transfer Approval. JAMB identifies missing O’Level results, pending institutional recommendations and unaccepted transfers among issues candidates should check when admission has not reflected.
Continue monitoring your profile. If GSU has told you that you were selected but CAPS remains unchanged, contact the university’s admissions office. You can also use JAMB’s official support platform for account or processing problems.
What to Do After Accepting GSU Admission
After confirming that your acceptance has been recorded:
- Print your JAMB admission letter through e-Facility.
- Keep copies of your admission letter and relevant academic documents.
- Follow GSU’s instructions for screening, payments and registration through the university’s official website.
A verified GSU acceptance-fee amount, registration deadline and screening schedule for this admission update were not available from the official pages checked. Follow the university’s instructions before making payments.
